Niamot Ali

Who is Niamot Ali?

My name is Niamot Ali. I was born in Sonargaon, Bangladesh. I have been pursuing PhD at the Doctoral School of Sociology and Communication at Corvinus University of Budapest, Hungary, since September 2020. In Budapest, I am working on the title of Elite and Public Discourse on the Rohingya Humanitarian Crisis in Bangladesh. I have completed my education at South Asian University, New Delhi, India and the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, for an MA in Sociology, Bachelor of Social Sciences and Master, respectively. Before starting the PhD journey, I taught at the Department of Development Studies, Daffodil International University, Bangladesh.

In addition, I worked with Liberation War Museum, Bishwa Sahitto Kendra, and Volunteers Association for Bangladesh as a Research Volunteer, Organizer and Field Inspector, respectively. As a result of the volunteer activities, I have contributed to publishing two documents on the Rohingya influx in Bangladesh. These are “The Testimony of Sixty- on the Crisis of Rohingya in Myanmar (2017) and The Rohingya Genocide: Compilation and Analysis of Survivors` Testimonies (2018). The Centre has published both documents for the Study of Genocide and Justice, Liberation War Museum, Dhaka, Bangladesh.
